There is a weekly removal service to most European destinations running out of the Deeside depot. That is the fact that decides most European moves, because the alternative is waiting for a mover to find enough freight going your way to make the trip worth running. A regular schedule means a part load leaves on a known week rather than an eventual one.
Britannia Cestrian has shipped household goods into Europe since long before it needed customs paperwork to do it, and specialises in moves to and from Belgium, France, Germany, Holland and Portugal.

Part load or sole use
The survey settles this first, because everything else follows from it. If the volume fills a vehicle, it is loaded at your house and travels directly. If it does not, the goods go to our consolidation warehouse and travel with other loads heading the same way, which is considerably cheaper and adds time.
Neither option is better. The right one depends on how much you are moving and how firm your date at the other end is.
Export packing
Goods for a European move are packed to a different standard from a house move across Chester. Specialist export materials, a complete inventory for your records, and barcoding across the shipment so that what left is demonstrably what arrived.
That inventory is not just good practice. It is the document customs works from.
Customs paperwork since Brexit
Household goods moving from the UK into the EU now need customs formalities that were not required before 2021, and the requirements differ country by country. Our team prepares the documentation and checks it before the load leaves the UK, which is where errors are cheap to fix rather than expensive.
Moving to France
France is one of our regular routes and the most common European destination from this part of the country. A move to France runs the same way as any other European job. Survey, export packing, documentation prepared here, then delivery to the property through the Britannia network’s destination agents rather than a handover at a depot.
Storage at either side
Storage before departure is common, particularly where a UK sale completes before a purchase abroad. Britannia also runs storage centres in Spain at Alicante and Malaga, which is unusual for a UK mover and useful if a property there is not ready.
The other end
Delivery is door to door. Britannia’s overseas agents clear the shipment and deliver it to the new property, so the job does not stop at a port and become your problem. Vehicle shipping and air freight can be arranged alongside for anything that needs to travel separately or arrive sooner.
