The depot is in Deeside, which puts most of North Wales inside a short run rather than a day’s travel. That matters for a rural move more than it does for a city one. A property up a single-track lane near Mold or out towards Ruthin often needs two vehicles and a bit of shuttling, and the cost of that depends heavily on how far the crew has come to do it.

The lane is the whole problem
Rural access failures follow a pattern. A lorry gets down the lane and cannot turn at the other end. A gateway is wide enough for a car and not for a vehicle with a body on it. A track looks passable in August and is not passable in February. Overhanging branches take the top off a load.
None of that is unusual and all of it is solvable, as long as somebody has looked before the day.
Surveying the destination, not just the collection
For a rural move the survey at the far end matters more than the one at the near end. The surveyor checks lane width, turning space, gateway clearance, the surface, and where a full-size vehicle can legally and safely stand if it cannot reach the door.
That is what decides the vehicle plan. Sometimes a single lorry goes all the way in. Sometimes the load transfers to a smaller shuttle vehicle for the last stretch, running back and forth from a lay-by or a farm entrance. Our own fleet of twelve vehicles covers both, so the plan does not depend on what happens to be free that week.
Packed for the journey, not just the lift
A longer run over rougher roads asks more of the packing than a three-mile move across a city. Furniture is blanket-wrapped, loads are strapped and secured, and anything fragile is packed to travel rather than packed to be carried.
One day or two
Most moves from Chester into Flintshire or Denbighshire are within a comfortable day. Further west or into Mid Wales, and the survey will tell you whether it makes more sense to load one day and deliver the next. That decision is made at survey and priced then, not raised on the morning.
If the new house is not ready
Rural purchases slip more often than urban ones, and renovation is common. Household storage at the Deeside depot bridges it, with belongings loaded into sealed containers at your door and redelivered when the property is ready.
